Hi!!!

Hi!! Margaret has internet in Hong Kong omg :) Someone left their wireless network unsecured, bless their innocent hearts, and so now I can surf the internet outside my grandparent's shop -- passerbys staring at this silly kid in her slippers.

What have I been up to? Shopping :D I love shopping. And hanging out with my cousins and family. Hong Kong was so crowded last night! These insanely huge crowds of people celebrating christmas... Anyway, I'm not really doing much. Reading The Grim Grotto (one of A Series of Unfortunate Events), watching one or two films on my laptop, immersing myself in the wonderful bustlingness of Hong Kong. Enjoying city life again.

I love you guys!

In the next few days I'm planning to go on a day-trip to Shenzhen :) twill be nice

Yay, Grace! Your vacation plans sound really exciting! I wish I could just plan on like that :D

Adhira: Hmm, grades... I was really excited today because I thought we'd be able to check our grades online today. Turns out that it's not today but tomorrow. I'm very worried about my computer science grade. If my final went terribly wrong, this course will ruin my GPA. (GPA sucks!!) Oh well, we should invent another grading system. maybe.Yay! Yeah, I know... some people seem to just hook up pretty randomly. Although some people don't ;)

Hmm.. I've been thinking about this for a while; how do we know which one we really 'like'? Sometimes it's kind of hard.. You enjoy being with these people, they're good friends, but that doesn't mean you like 'like' every one of them. So how do we know when love or whatever it is comes?

So, it's almost a week into the winter break. I'm still in LA with my parents and my sister. We're going to San Fransisco tomorrow, and will fly back to Manila on the 29th. Oh, by the way, the weirdest thing just happened today. We went to Disneyland, and we took the subway home. I had a bit of ... disagreement with my mom in Disneyland. It's not a big deal, and I get over it pretty soon, but I don't know about my mom. I started feeling pretty guilty about it after a while. But there was this guy on the subway who suddenly moved to an empty seat in front of my parents, and sort of stared at them. I noticed this weird guy, but tried to look away. After a while, he looked at me and said, "Your parents love you, you know."

Well, that's it. The thing is, I know our parents love us; that's not a question. That's not really the thing that bug me after the thing with my mom (I was just mad because my mom is always kind of.. controlling, telling what to do up to the most trivial thing. I just wished she trusted me a bit more), but still, it's kind of weird to have a stranger knowing something was a little wrong (no matter how little it was). So, we got off the train, and walked out of the station. I was still thinking about that guy. Then we passed by a motorcyclist talking to somebody, and I heard him say "Trust me." Ugh, 2 in a row? You know I don't believe in supernatural stuff, but it was kind of .. I don't know.. pretty amazing, I guess.

Oh well... Anyway, Happy Christmas everybody! And happy new year. This year has been good, I hope :)

Aphex Twin

:P you guys (esp trance-mad Gracia) have to listen to Aphex Twin. Its awesome, the music he makes. For a song recommendation, try Xtal. I'm not kidding. This guy is great (some of his recordings were done at age 15).

And yes he's british. For another good british progressive trance artist, listen to Sasha. My favorite by him is Breezer.

I didnt do well on my calc test either Josie... What about that loooong math test you took? When do get back the results? And yes... I am still in the singles club Josie! Its so weird, everyone in my dorm is hooking up with everyone, kinda sick actually... well actually its not everyone, just a couple of people but I still havent gotten used it...
We had a Secret Santa thing in our hall... I had to buy stuff for my roommate (lucky becoz i didnt have to fret over what to buy...) It was fun, I got my most favorite thing in the whole entire world - CHOCOLATES!!! (hee heee)
Anyway, I have to write a 15 page paper by tom, so Bye! Miss you guys!!

ho ho ho...

I really wish sinterklaas exists!

Tani: Oh, well... there isn't much entertainment for us to enjoy.. what else to criticise except food! =)

Grace: I'm sure you're having lots of fun cooking, Grace! Maybe I should start using the kitchen too... (uh.. laziness...)

Juhi: Oh, snowy christmas! How exciting! Talking about snow, my dorm had a christmas party yesterday night, and we brought in a snow machine (only shredded ice, though). Somehow they got the snow machine the day before the party, and, unfortunately, the day was very very warm that probably half of the 'snow' melted before the party even started. Oh, well...

Oh, and I got to mix drinks! Turned out to be pretty fun...
didn't really planned to go to the party, since most people's objective is just the free alcohol. But, since it's in my dorm, I decided to be there for a while. We were just standing, and an upperclassman made us helped mix drinks in the kitchen. Hot cider, hot chocolate, orange juice, coke, and egg nog with alcohol. Towards the end, we decided to put in way more alcohol in them since there were so much left.

I took my math final; didn't go as well as I wanted to, but oh well.. Yep, have physics on monday, and I can choose to take CS on tuesday or friday (probably take it friday so I'll have time to study for CS and econ), and econ on wednesday. math and physics are pass/fail; but I really really want a high pass; only if I can. Econ and CS are graded. Not doing very well in CS, but I hope my econ grade can bring my gpa to a decent level.

My parents are visiting me, and we're staying here for around 2 weeks. Go back to Manila afterwards. I really want to just go home and rest! But I guess it'll be quite fun.

Oh, more for Adhira: we're the only 2 left in the singles club! or are you going away too? ;)

All of you: (repeating Margie) watch your mailboxes!

happy xmas!

It Snowed!!

It snowed a couple of days back (wow, seems like ages ago...) It was awesome! Though the snow didnt stay, it was still really cool! I ll make this short coz i have a calc final tom and i havent started yet. Let the pictures speak for themselves...
P.S. I have been watching sooo many movies! During my finals!

Tani! Have fun in Rome!
And everyone else... GOOD LUCK WITH FINALS!!!

Gahh!

So I'm really scared of finals. I've a take-home for math (Josie is done with it, so many people are done with it and I'm not) and Physics on Monday. Then its Chem on Thursday and I'll be done with it all!

Some of my friends (who shall remain nameless) were smoking pot through bongs today... I got lightheaded just staying in the room so I left for a bit. Weird. I'm tempted to try it, but I'm scared to~ I'm scared of blackened lungs, regardless of how cool the smoke looks, just frothing out of your mouth.

Merry Xmas everyone! Look for something special in the mail :)
Tani, have fun in Rome! Wow I envy you, being able to go home to such a beautiful place. Manila's gonna be fun, seeing friends again, but its not pretty. I'll have my fun in Hong Kong :D shopping, sightseeing like a tourist, playing with cousins, hee!

Yeah, as Josie might have mentioned, I *am* dating Jason :)

booya!

oh, suddenly we're all writing in our blog! Very exciting! I think I want to write something too...

Soo.. Tani: "last Saturday of the first sem" ... are you done with the semester already? Oh, that's so nice! Maybe I should have gone to England instead! (hmm..)
And, (referring back to that unanswered email) yeah, immortality still bugs me, but not in the same way. I think I do have friends who are immortal to me, and I hope me to them ('them' including all of you!) Anyway... I haven't told stuff about Mudd yet?? Really? .. Hehe.. maybe... well, Margie told everything well enough already :) I think I don't change that much -more outgoing or anything- but I feel that I fit in here. Back in ISM, sometimes things can get a bit bitter -- the things I appreciate isn't really appreciated by most other people, vice versa.

(Hmm.. being rather vague here, but, as an example... everybody appreciates science and get very excited over it. We talk about hw, and actually enjoy doing it. Oh, and everybody knows the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy and the number 42! 42 is the answer!)

Oh, one rather significant change: I think I never liked humanities/social studies much before. I enjoy them now :) Sometimes I get kind of sick with science; doing econ homework or talking with people outside Mudd is a diversion. It's relaxing.

Well, so basically life at Mudd is becoming more hectic everyday. (But still fun) Lots of work to do but the people are super. I took a test for a math competition today, called the Putnam Mathematical Competition. yay! It's 6 hour long (what a great way to waste your beautiful saturday morning! well, and afternoon also) from 8 to 11 and from 1 to 4. THere were 2 parts, 3 hour long each. each part has 6 questions; each question is 10 points if you get it all right. The hard part is, well, the question. (what am I talking about?? I'm losing my language skills!) The questions are mostly proving stuff. I did 7 questions. got 1 question completely wrong; the other 6 are potentially wrong or messed up (but let's pretend I did well on it!)

Adhira: Hehe.. I know! I figured out that if I'm online, I wouldn't be doing work. Soo... But, yeah. I really should be online once in a while. I haven't talked to you for a loooooooong time!! And to Tani! And to Gracie! (Not you, Margie!). Hehe.. yeah, dorm food is becoming more and more .. boring. Food was actually okay in the beginning of the year. I guess I'm just bored now. Doesn't taste like real food anymore.

By the way, UK people! I'm just wondering... do you guys cook? Or do you go to the campus cafetaria/dining hall? Or do you eat out? or pubs?

Grace: I haven't heard from you for a long while! How are you doing? Post something soon!

Margie: (Why am I writing to you, Margie!) :D So, tell me about 'it', or 'him', or the braces, or whatever it was ;) Real conversation, I mean... Are you planning to leave 'the singles club' in the near future?

Hey Jeeks!

I am sorry I havent been posting anything up... Not much going on here, just tons of work. I went to my friend's cousins house in New Jersey over Thanksgiving Break... It was very relaxing and I got good (real) food. Shes Turkish so lots of Turkish food. It was hilarious how both of us were getting excited over the stupidest things like fresh lemons and Italian pizza (as opposed to the caf's 'American pizza') and big fluffy couches etc etc etc....

Margie! Thats awesome ;) I hope it was special, I bet it was... I cant wait till summer when i can see all of you again :(
Gracie: The next time I ll have my webcam too and we can seee and hear each other *the wonders of technology*
Josie: You are never online!!! I wanna talk to you! The only news I get of you is from Margie.
Tani: How are things going with Eddy? Its great that you are enjouying college so much. I still cant beleive that you have such little work *jealous*

I love you all!

P.S. I am too lazy to post pictures so just go to this site to see my life at Bucknell

Margie kissed someone special today :) Teehee. It was with braces, so it was kinda funny.
